Basketweaves

Basketweave is a classic design that can look formal or informal depending on the flowers and backdrop.  Though it looks quite intricate, it takes no longer to complete than many other designs, making it an economical as well as beautiful choice. 

 

 

Shapes such as squares and hexagons are lovely and unique.  The hexagonal cake shown here is decorated with sprigs of Bells of Ireland. 

The sterling silver cake plateau adds a beautiful touch for formal settings such as this one at the Asheville Country Club.

A beautiful spring day at Claxton Farms was the right setting for this cake, adorned with large bright sunflowers.

For a small home wedding, miniature sunflowers and home-grown daisies completed the look.
